North East New Tech: Next Meet Up

DigitalCity Business are pleased to announce that North East New Tech [NENT] is returning for what we are sure will be another fantastic event.

North East New Tech is designed to bring the North East community together, to socialise, network and show-and-tell new technology, designs, and ideas! A mix of the regions hottest and exciting tech start-ups, developers and designers will be getting together for what is our return to Florita's in Newcastle.

Last time round we seen Tristan Watson (Love Your Larder), Tim Allison (Darling Dash), Mark Ryan (Blooie), Kevin Mann (Audacious) and Alex Horre (Thap) create an extremely exciting event.
This time we are heading back to Florita's in Newcastle, which we feel is a great venue to cater for what NENT has to offer.

We've taken on board your feedback, received through Pollme, and are hoping that we can provide another exciting event.

This time we are focusing on 'Developing the North East Tech Scene'

Speakers:

Alexander Horre (Thap)
Host / Intro Topic 'Product Failures' - The host of NENT. Alexander is from San Francisco. He now works at Thap in boho One and is the Product Evangelist at happiest. Alex will give his talk on product failures and life is simply too short for it.

Mark Mullis
'Youth Coding Academy' - Realising that all youngsters excel in different areas, Mark identified that the North East do not have a specific youth programme in which to learn to code, and as such is looking to develop a community in which to assist his vision. Look forward to an exciting topic in which input will be greatly appreciated.

David Maxwell (Maxwell Intelligence)
'New Business Venture' - David is a long term supporter of DigitalCity Business and has a vast experience in Business and Market planning, focusing on the Digital and Creative sectors. David is launching a new business and we are extremely excited to learn what his new venture will entail.

Paul Lancaster (Founder of Plan Digital)
No Email Day’ – Paul will be talking about how he ran a global campaign with nothing more than an idea, a smartphone and social media. Including ideas on how to increase your chances of an idea spreading virally, and how this was influenced from being part of Seth Godin’s ‘Domino Project Street Team’ and how this influenced 'No Email Day'.
If you have not yet seen it, check out Paul's Crowdsourced Google map of the North East Tech Scene: http://bit.ly/NorthEastTech

We have more to come!
Keep posted, we will be confirming more speakers on the run up to the event!
